First Friday Film Series: Numen

Friday, June 3rd, The First Friday Film Series, hosted by Grayson LandCare & The Church of the Good Shepherd will screen Numen: The Healing Power of Plants, complete with popcorn and panel discussions afterwards.

Numen, defined as the animating force in nature, is a 75-minute documentary film focusing on the healing power of plants and the natural world.

Featuring stunning footage of medicinal plants and thought-provoking interviews with Drs. Tiearona Lowdog and Larry Dossey, the late Bill Mitchell, ND, author Kenny Ausubel, herbalists Rosemary Gladstar, Phyllis Light and many others, the film calls for a re-awakening of traditional knowledge about plants and their uses.

Numen is for herbalists, gardeners, medical practitioners, plant lovers—and everyone concerned about human and environmental health.

The most important take-home message from Numen is, as Bill Mitchell and Rosemary Gladstar and so many others in the film say, to step outside, spend time in your garden, in the woods, in the meadow outside of town. Be grateful and open your heart to the mystery that is around us all, each moment.

7:00 pm at The Church of the Good Shepherd: 9441 Grayson Pkwy, Galax.
