DESCRIPTION:Join LandCare as we celebrate the holidays at 6:00 pm Monday\, December 16th at the LandCare office in Independence. \nBring an appetizer or drink to share and wear your Christmas finery. \nThis year\, we will collect items to support our local Little Free Pantrys. Bring shelf-stable and weatherproof food items to donate. \nWe will have a representative from the Regional Animal Shelter in Galax there to collect donations for their Capital Campaign. The Shelter\, which serves Galax\, Grayson\, and Carroll counties\, has been awarded $175\,000 from PetCo to expand the shelter and meet the rising demand for services. With another $120\,000 from the community\, they can build everything that is needed to turn the 40-year-old building into a modern\, full-service center for tending to unwanted pets and finding them new homes. Word has it that an adorable shelter dog will be on hand to encourage you!
