DESCRIPTION: \n\n \n\nAre you interested in American Chestnuts? Help plant some trees with the American Chestnut Foundation and Clint Morse. Here are the details: Note\, the area where we are planting is steep and footing is uneven. But\, it should be a fun time! November 7 @ 8:00 am – 2:00 pm\, free!\n\n \n\nWe will plant about 130 seedlings from the American Chestnut foundation. These will be predominantly progeny from large surviving American chestnuts that may have some elevated resistance and then some susceptible Americans and Chinese as controls. These seedlings will get inoculated with blight in about 5 years and we will see what happens!\n\n \n\nWe will also plant the grafted trees Clint  grew this year from superior Chestnuts.\n\n \n\nPlease register here:https://tacf.org/event/planting-in-independence-va/

Learn by doing!  Pitch in and see how they prepare the pollinator garden and food forest for the winter.   All workdays are in the Permaculture garden at the Church of the Good Shepherd located at 9441 Grayson Pkwy\, Galax\, VA 24333 \nPermaculture work days are generally the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30am to noon.  The best way to learn anything is by doing.  Lend a hand and learn about permaculture.
