In addition to serving as the town manager of Independence, Reid also serves as chairman of the Virginia Carolina Water Authority, a multi-state water authority providing water to Sparta NC and Independence VA, and as manager of the Independence DMV Select. Reid has his Masters in Public Administration from Appalachian State University and undergraduate degrees in History, Political Science, and Social Science Education from Western Carolina University. He is a graduate of the Municipal and County Administration program at the UNC School of Government and a member of the UNC School of Government’s LGFCU ‘Leading for Results’ Fellowship.
