The Grayson Permaculture Group is a group of people interested in learning more about permaculture and working collaboratively on a food forest garden project with LandCare and the Church of the Good Shepherd.
A little about our founders:
Cynthia and Rick Taylor brought Permaculture as a framework for gardening and an overall principal for sustainable living to Grayson LandCare in 2016. The Permaculture garden and food forest at Church of the Good Shepherd has provided produce to Food Independence and God’s Storehouse in Galax as well as a habitat for pollinators and native plants. It is a model for home and production gardeners alike and a living classroom for habitat improvement and rainwater control. Volunteers have donated over 3,600 hours and more volunteers are always welcome.
Interested in joining the GraysonPermaculture Group?
We meet the 2nd Thursday of each month from 6-8pm and host a Church of the Good Shepherd Food Forest Workday every month during the spring and summer.
We will offer several workshops this year, from pallet herb gardens to hugel bed construction and more!
