Food Independence had another record setting distribution for Thanksgiving this year. 30 volunteers handled a record crowd with 464 boxes given out, far ahead of the past record of 441 boxes! They unpacked, repacked, packed new boxes and adjusted on the run. These folks truly represented the spirit that makes our volunteers special. In addition, more volunteers spent time the previous week getting ready for the distribution, including folks at the Free Market who bagged up Christmas ornaments to give away as well.
Please let anyone who might need assistance know that the December distribution will be Tuesday December 17th. It’s a week early to allow people to get ready for the holiday.
Thank you to everyone who volunteers for Food Independence and all our other Grayson LandCare projects. You make our work in our community possible.
