Our Outreach section (not open to the public) consists of household items smaller than furniture for bedroom, bath and kitchen. When agencies refer or bring clients that are starting over—after a disaster, homelessness, domestic abuse, etc.—we let them choose what they need and want. The smiles on their faces are worth more than I can say! We love being able to give them new or like-new items to use in their new home.
Of course, we depend on donations to stock this area. We usually have enough dishes, cookware, sheets and bedding, but these are things we run short on:
Bath towel sets, new or VERY lightly used
Shower curtains and liners
Small appliances, especially microwaves
Summer-weight bedspreads or comforters
Tableware in very good shape (spoons, knives, forks)
If you have any of these things stored away and could donate them, we would be very grateful! Just tell the volunteers that you are bringing this for Outreach. Thank you for multiplying our impact in the community!
