Free Market News, June 2019

As the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Independence disbanded recently, they gave their remaining funds to a few local non-profits.  The Free Market received a check for $750, a huge show of support for our mission.  We are grateful for their generosity and will be thoughtful in how we use the funds they have entrusted to us.

We also cleaned out more of the warehouse space, organized the massive amounts of holiday items and made space for LogJam, a local woodworkers co-op, to store lumber.  They will make an annual donation in exchange for using some of our space.
We hope to have our first pet adoption event later this month, in coordination with the Fur-Get-Me-Not rescue agency.
The Free Market is looking for volunteers!  If you can work a 4-hour shift every week, two weeks or even once a month, please contact Tracy Cornett at
