Monday July 15th, 7 pm: Sustainable Earthen Building Methods.

April Magill will be presenting on her work as an Architect, Natural Builder, and Community-Building leader, working to advance sustainable, high-performing natural methods of construction.  Methods such as Rammed Earth, Hempcrete, Cob, natural plasters & paints and more are regenerative systems, often sequestering carbon, environmentally friendly, and healthy for the laborers and the inhabitants.  April is working to pioneer these methods in the southeast through her work as an architect and through education. April is an Adjunct Professor with ACBA where she teaches a ‘Sustainable Earthen Building Methods’ course.  https://rootdowndesigns.com/about-us/
“Finding unions between the built world and regional agriculture so that we can create circular economy cycles within communities, building with materials that are healthy and naturally available, building skills within communities as a way to address affordable housing are all issues I am passionate about and excited to share this knowledge with those seeking a better way to build and live.”
April lives in Charleston, SC with her partner Matt and their two kids, Eli & Wren.
They also share a small property, part-time in Mouth of Wilson, VA.
