The Free Market keeps a special section in the non-public area for people who are referred by agencies and starting over—due to homelessness, aging out of foster care, losting a home to fire or foreclosure, etc. It has been well used, and we love being able to let clients choose their dishes, pots and pans, kitchen tools, towels, sheets and blankets. And sometimes we have small appliances, like coffee makers and microwaves. We were delighted when the family from Fries who lost everything in a fire last week came on Saturday and got some nice things to start over.
If you would like to help us with this effort, please bring us sheet sets, bath and kitchen towels, non-breakable dishes, cookware and kitchen storage containers, and any small appliances you no longer need. They should be clean and in good working order, and we ask that you bring them when we are open—10-2 Thursday, Friday and Saturday. You can be sure your donations will get a second life with someone who will truly appreciate using them!
