As we all try to do our part decrease waste and pollution, there are many small steps we can take—looking for products without excess packaging, avoiding disposable cleaning supplies, buying good quality items that will last. The Free Market was created to give you an alternative to buying new items, with their attendant manufacturing and transportation costs. And to encourage you to think what else an item could be used for. We currently have small stuffed “graduates” with “2023” on them; your toddler or dog would love a new toy and wouldn’t mind the date! Torn or stained bedsheets make great dropcloths or furniture covers, as well as plant covers when the temperatures get too low. We have a steady supply of children’s books, drawing paper and markers to lure your kids away from the screen. And remember us when you are doing your spring cleaning—if it’s in good shape, please bring those unwanted items to us! That’s what keeps this unique project going. Thank you!
Just a reminder, Earth Day is April 22nd.
