Feel like a morning on the river for a good cause? Join us at 1624 Battlefield Drive-look for the Grayson LandCare sign- between 8:30-9am to get organized and we will clean the area to just before Molly Shoals. Lunch will be provided. If you can’t join us for this cleanup, there are cleanups every Saturday in August. Grayson County has proclaimed August as Clean River month. A committee of stake holders led by the New River Wildlife Club is coordinating several river cleanups with multiple groups taking different sections of the New river in Grayson County again this year.
If you would like to volunteer, please email [email protected] and include your cell phone number. If we need to cancel, I’ll post it on the GLC facebook page, but I’d like to be able to contact you directly. Rain date is August 24. We had a lot of fun last time, I hope you’ll plan to join us. Anyone who can bring canoes or flat bottomed boats would be a big help to collect and ferry trash to the trash pickup location. Please contact me as soon as possible if you’d like to join the fun!
