Do you want to help clean the New River during Clean River Month this August? Join Grayson LandCare on August 15. We’ll meet at the Independence Boat Launch on Old River Lane. It doesn’t have an address, but the coordinates are https://maps.app.goo.gl/tjAKw2p9E7nGARH17. We will park the majority of the vehicles here. Lunch will be provided. Bring gloves and personal flotation devices if you want to use your own. We will have both to loan, as well.
Here’s the schedule:
8:30 – 9:00 AM Sign-in/Registration
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM – River Cleanup
12:00 – 1:00 PM – Lunch provided to volunteers and members
1:00 PM – Thanks and Recognition
Governing Rules
All activities are dependent upon weather forecast and river conditions
Cancellation – if needed will be posted on the GLC’s Facebook page
Appropriate clothing (you will get wet and muddy) and footwear (no flip flops) are recommended
PFD’s are required for on and in river activities
All participants must sign a liability release
Any team which includes minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult (minors must have parental approval)
