As 2018 draws to a close, we are grateful for another abundant year in Grayson County. We are thankful for our natural wealth of water, soil, plants and wildlife. And we appreciate all our neighbors who participated in our events this year and helped us in any way. We have grown in memberships, sponsorships, donors, and partners.
The Free Market is serving those who want to downsize or declutter as well as those who need useful items or like to “upcycle” odd items into beautiful arts and crafts. This new venture has been very successful in its first year, and we are deeply grateful for the volunteers who keep it running. Our next goal is to measure how many pounds we are keeping out of the landfill, thereby saving the county money and recirculating items that can still be used.
LandCare Rocks the River doubled its attendance in its second year, providing a day of music, crafts, children’s activities and food trucks on the scenic New River to all our local families and visitors. We worked hard to raise enough money to keep admission free, so everyone could enjoy the day with their family and friends.
We constantly strive to learn and to be of more value to our community. We welcome your participation, energy, and ideas as we seek new ways to grow the economy, preserve the environment and build a strong, nurturing community.
Sincerely,
Kathy Cole
President
