Do you any high school students in Grayson County? Encourage them to enter the LandFair contest. We have made it easier to enter the contest this year. We have limited the focus of the contest to the New River. We have also expanded the competition to classes, clubs, groups and church youth groups.
Contestants are invited to think creatively about how they can make a positive impact on the New River. This could include how to improve water quality, riparian buffers, trash control, runoff control, water testing, attracting folks to clean ups, educating younger kids about the river, developing tourism, developing the new park, and other ideas. The goal of the competition remains benefiting the community while also meeting the triple bottom line of sustainability―being economically successful, protecting our environment, and promoting community involvement and well-being.
Prizes are as follows:
1st place $1000
2nd place $350
3rd place $150
