The GLC cleanup was cancelled on the 6th due to thunderstorms. We will try again Saturday August 20. Meet at 1624 Battlefield Drive-look for the Grayson LandCare sign- between 8:30-9am to get organized and will clean the area to just before Molly Shoals. Lunch will be provided. Here’s the schedule:Grayson County has proclaimed August as Clean River month. A committee of stake holders led by the New River Wildlife Club is coordinating several river cleanups with multiple groups taking different sections of the New river in Grayson County again this year.
If you would like to volunteer, please email [email protected] and include your cell phone number. If we need to cancel again, I’ll post it on the GLC facebook page, but I’d like to be able to contact you directly. Rain date is August 27. We had a great time last year, I hope you’ll plan to join us. Anyone who can bring canoes or flat bottomed boats would be a big help to collect and ferry trash to the trash pickup location. Please save the date August 20th!
