The Grayson Permaculture Group and Grayson Landcare are hosting 3 events in May. The first event is in conjunction with the Town of Independence and is a potluck and weeding session at Town Park May 15 from 5-7 pm. Are you curious about the orange flags around the retention pond at Town Park? Come see how the native seedlings fared this winter and help weed the planting. Join us from 5-6pm for weeding and plant discussion and plan to stay for a potluck afterward to reward your hard work! The Town of Independence will provide the main course. Bring a side or dessert to share. Contact Michelle Pridgen for more information. [email protected]
The second event is a hands-on herbal workshop at the Permaculture garden at the Church of the Good Shepherd located at 9441 Grayson Parkway in Baywood. Join Cynthia Taylor and Michelle Pridgen Saturday May 17 from 10-noon. We’ll take a look around the permaculture garden and forage and pick edible plants and prepare them to eat, make a salve, a tea, and a tincture. $10 payable the day of the workshop covers the cost of supplies. Contact Michelle Pridgen for more information. [email protected]
The last event is Kids Day at the Permaculture Garden, at Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 9441 Grayson Parkway in Baywood, May 31, 10-11:30am.
