The Free Market has Medical Equipment for ANYONE who needs it

Three years ago, the Free Market started a new program to help the community—a medical equipment lending library.  At first, we had mostly walkers, crutches, bedside commodes and shower chairs.  But as more people have learned about it and donated things they no longer need, we now also have hospital beds and wheelchairs, as well as quad canes, knee scooters and (usually) rollators – walkers with a seat and wheels.  All the equipment is clean and in good working order, and a volunteer will help you select just what you need.

There is no cost, but we do take down your name, phone number and what you are borrowing .  We ask that the equipment be returned when it is no longer needed, but we never call or ask.  We have had enough returns to keep the program going.  If you have specific needs, please call (276-266-1303) or visit and ask.  We sometimes have less common items, like gravity-fed ice machines or ski tips for walkers.  A couple of our volunteers are retired nurses, which has been a real boon to this program.

Please help us spread the word, to ensure that no one goes without the equipment they need to be safe in their homes!
