We are happy to announce 2 things that will greatly improve our ability to help our neighbors. We were able to secure dedicated monthly delivery from Feeding Southwest Virginia. This will significantly reduce our delivery cost which in turn will allow us to put that money in our neighbors boxes. In addition, Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) will begin in June. With this program we will have access to more produce and shelf stable foods.
We are able to participate in the Summer Kids Program again this year. It will begin on June 1st and will run through July 27 (running bi-weekly) from 5-7pm for ages 1-18 in Grayson County. Dates are June 1, June 15, June 29, July 13 and July 27.
38 volunteers distributed 358 boxes and donated 207 hours for the May distribution.
