Everyone is invited to help celebrate the Independence Farmers Market 15th birthday during the last regular market of the outdoor season from 9am to 1pm, Friday October 14. We’re also asking folks to take a very brief survey in exchange for a piece of birthday cake! Feedback is important and we try to continually improve the market. The plan was to celebrate in the new pavilion but we have fingers crossed that we’ll be in Town Park sometime next year. The Town is interviewing for a new manager, hopefully they will get the project moving forward again.
It’s our birthday, but you can win a great present! Buy a ticket( or a bunch) for a beautiful bowl full of wonderful Farmers Market products. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. You can also sign a giant birthday card or create video reels while at the Market to share on the IFM facebook page.
While this is the last regular Market, IFM will return with 2 Winter Markets, the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 25 from 11-2 and again Friday December 2 from 3-6pm. Please note this is a change. The second Winter Market is usually the first Saturday in December but this year vendors voted to join the Christmas Market and Tree Lighting held at the 1908 Courthouse on Friday December 2 from 3-7. The Farmers Market will still hold the Annual Chili Cookoff with a first prize of $100. Free to enter, $5 to taste all the chili and vote for your favorite.
Don’t be sad, even though this Friday is our last regular Market, you can order ALL year online! Orders can be placed from Wednesday evening at 8pm to Monday evening at 8pm and picked up Wednesday from 4-6pm at the IFM office on Courthouse Street.
